Girls, I'm Sorry, But James Dean Is Dead...oh and Gay.
Not gay like happy, but gay like Rock Hudson.
According to this article in the Guarrdian, James Dean was obviously a gay man. Not that it makes a difference, but I'm sure thousands of teenaged girls are crushed. These are the girls that fall in love with James Dean, John Lennon, and Jim Morrison when they're 15.
The fact that these men are dead don't seem to dissuade these corpse loving teeny boppers. But now that James Dean is both Dead AND Gay. Well, it's going to be just a little bit harder for the girls to justifiy their infatuation with this dead boy.

you'll be shocked (note the sarcasm) that I was one of those girls who had a crush on a dead gay man. He falls right in line with my desire for the unattainable man, right up there with william yeats, who has 3 major factors in his favor:
1. dead 2. poet 3. hot
James Dean gets
1. dead 2. hot 3. troubled
I love him so. I have a large print of him walking in NYC hanging over my desk at home. I used to have his stamps, which is the closest thing I'll ever have to licking him. Sal Mineo probably got a few swipes in there. :)

And how is that shocking? Did you know he was engaged to Pier Angell, who's mother made her marry Vic Damone instead? So then she killed herself saying James Dean was the only man she ever loved. I can't seem to shut off my random James Dean Trivia brain...so I'll be going now.
Wasn't Sal Mineo gay too? And he also killed himself.
It also seems like Kelly has a thing for gay boys (David Sedaris and now James Dean). And there would be nothing wrong with that, if she were a boy of course and gay. Kelly, I think, is neither. Kelly, you need a boyfriend fast!!
